Born in a small village named Vadgaon, near Rajgurunagar, Pandurang Sable never really aimed to become a teacher or a banker. His ultimate passion was agriculture and loved farming since his childhood.
Being a part of a farmer’s family, he spent his childhood on the farm. At home his mother and grandfather always encouraged him to complete his graduation and support the family. Till 11th he completed his education from Rajgurunagar and further came to Pune and took admission at the B.M.C.C. college for graduation.
Hoping to complete the degree of B.Com by the end of the year, he had got a job as a teacher during the last year of the degree itself. Rather, the B.Com qualification fetched him a special allowance at the school. The school was located near Baramati, and there he taught variety of subjects to varying standards. English to 10th std. , Hindi to 11th and 12th std, drawing to 8th std. and Geography to 9th std. Being a strict but gentle teacher he was very much loved by the students.
After one year he left teaching and took up the banking career so as to fulfil his family demands. For some years Sable worked at the SBI bank in Pune and later opted for a job at Rajgurunagar local urban bank as an Assistant Manager. There he worked for the next 26 years and retired at the age of 62 as the C.E.O. of the bank. His honesty and devotion made him a lovable person at the bank.
As soon as he got retired, Sable turned towards his passion and started farming. Now he gets ample of time to dedicate it towards farming. Also, he says that it feels very nice to follow the footsteps of his forefathers.
Seemingly, life with all its turnings has finally reached the destination after his heart- being the son of the soil, now he is able to enjoy agriculture to his heart’s content!
